A
highlight is
the enthralling landscape design
which, in effect, gives the
house two gardens.
The
family room opens onto an upper
garden from which a helical
steel stairway with curved
glass balustrading and stainless
steel handrails sweeps elegantly
down to the lower garden.
At
the lower level terraced planters
sculptured from Cor-Ten* panels
and gabions filled with Turkish
paddle stones line the perimeter.
A specially commissioned water
feature also made from Cor-Ten
and glass and subtle lighting
further enhance the appeal
of this area.
At
the front, a minimalist design
with simple planting and lighting
makes a dramatic statement,
whilst allowing off-street
parking for one vehicle. Another
steel staircase with glass
balustrade and stainless steel
handrail leads to the lower
ground floor entrance. *
